Patrick Leahy Lake Champlain Basin Photo Contest

In recognition of Senator Leahy’s long-standing commitment to Lake Champlain and to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Clean Water Act, the LCBP held the Patrick Leahy Lake Champlain Basin Photo Contest.

The LCBP received 120 entries in four categories that correspond to the four management goals of Opportunities for Action: Clean Water, Healthy Ecosystems, Thriving Communities, and Informed and Involved Public.

Senator Leahy announced the winners and the photos were exhibited at a Clean Water Act commemoration event at ECHO Leahy Center for Lake Champlain. The winning photos were:

1st Place: Plattsburgh Boat Basin at Sunrise, Kham Vongpaseuth
2nd Place: Lake Champlain Skate, Brett Blanchard
3rd Place:
Rainbow on Shelburne Pond, Tim Peters
Clean Water Category:
Flying High in Lake Dunmore, Doreen Peterson
Healthy Ecosystems Category: Canoeing on the LaPlatte River, Ann Pearce
Thriving Communities Category: Women at the Helm, Jessica Chadwell
Informed and Involved Public Category: Open Farm Weekend Tour at Essex Farm, Mary Godnick
