In August 2008, extensive blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) blooms formed on both the Quebec and Vermont sides of Missisiquoi Bay and in parts of the Alburgh Passage and St. Albans Bay in Lake Champlain. These photos depict conditions at various locations as the bloom moved around with wind and weather patterns.
